Transporting an electric vehicle (EV) requires specific preparations to ensure the safety and integrity of the vehicle. Here is what you need to do:

  • Charge the Battery: Make sure the EV is charged to a safe level, at least 50% – 60%. This helps prevent issues related to battery drain during transit. Secure any charging cables separately to avoid damage.
  • Prepare the Vehicle for Transport: Turn off the EV and make sure it’s in “Transport Mode” if available. This mode helps prevent any unintended electrical activity during transport. Remove any personal belongings and disable the alarm system.
  • Get Ready to Ship: Use a reputable auto transport company experienced with EVs that understands the nuances of moving electric vehicles. That’s us so give us a call or request a quote
